Handling valuables.

Ever since hasenkamp came into being, we have treated the goods entrusted to us in the same way: with the utmost professionalism, sensitivity and respect. This attitude to our work and the valuables of our clients has seen us continually grow in size and stature since 1903.

New beginnings in 1903

The hasenkamp story began in 1903 with the founding of a family company. The business flourished over the decades that followed until the Second World War temporarily put a halt to it. However, soon after the war, hasenkamp resumed its freight forwarding activity. Pictures...

Post-war development

As Germany gradually began to resume cultural interaction with its neighbouring countries, hasenkamp was commissioned to forward the works of German artists to Paris, Moscow and Leningrad.

Expansion from 1955

In 1955 hasenkamp set up its first branch in Bonn and by 1960 the fleet had grown to include 20 vehicles. At that time, the company handled the delivery services of the large department store, Kaufhof AG in Cologne and Bonn. hasenkamp then became the forwarding company for IBM and took on the task of handling highly sensitive EDP devices.

In 1965 our own carpentry and locksmith workshop was set up in Cologne, where special packaging was produced in-house. At the same time a branch was established in Frankfurt in the immediate vicinity of the airport. Further branches followed in 1970 in Hamburg and Munich, before the Berlin branch opened in 1975.

The new era of the 80s and 90s

Since the 1980s this company has been managed by fourth-generation family members. New ideas have lent an even stronger international character to the business. In order to meet the new challenges, hasenkamp began work in the early 1990s on a completely new freight forwarding facility that would not only meet the very latest logistical demands but also the growing security requirements. The new logistics centre went into commission in 1994.Pictures...

Our present progress

Today hasenkamp is still a family company, but everything else has changed since it was first conceived.

As a logistics provider of freight forwarding and warehouse services for sensitive, high-value goods, we are the European market leader and naturally DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 certified.

More than 500 outstanding employees work in our branches from Cologne to St. Petersburg.

With our own locksmith and carpentry workshop, we have more flexibility and performance capacity than many of our competitors.

Our clients benefit from the quality service of a traditional company, combined with the strength and worldwide handling ability of a market leader. We are enormously proud of being able to count some of the most demanding companies a logistics company can ever have among our clientele. These include globally active corporations, famous museums, state institutions and individuals from the cultural, commercial, sporting and political arenas. They all expect more from us than classic freight forwarding services – and they receive more:

logistics consulting, artwork forwarding, commissioning, assembly, warehousing, project management, complete household removal of a first-class standard and the creation of logistics software – to name but a few of our services. In the end, the individual needs and preferences of our clients determine the services that we offer.
